REAL TIME WIND REPORTS

County Line is an advanced kiteboarding beach for experts only.
This is a narrow, rocky and often high surf area with dangerous power lines very close to
the launch. As it is a narrow beach launching and landing can be critical.

Once you launch your kite, go immediately into the water.

Kite leashes are mandatory- Hands Free Spinning Leash Information here

Always have your kite over the water when walking up the beach. One gust and
you will join the many others who have put their kites into the power lines.

You may be confronted by a local to ask your competence level prior to launch. It is not to
hassle you, but rather to guarantee future access to all. If they say it is not safe for you,
it would behoove you to listen.

Be sure to come in prior to the condos to the south as many rocks sit just below the surface
in this area. A large down winder from County to Zeroes is a popular local run but if you do
break down outside the kelp beds, it requires quite a swim and expert skills to negotiate
the rocks and kelp on the inside if making a wave run.

Many surfers ride the waves here and being rude and cutting to close to them when
riding the waves with kites can get us shut down. Be extremely courteous.
We are very visible here.

There is a Ventura County fire station just above Neptunes Net restaurant across
the street. This beach like Leo is patrolled by the Malibu Coast State
Lifeguards. It is a small very tight unit who guards twelve miles of coast line
and who's rules regarding water sport access is often mimicked or looked at by
agencies up and down the California coast. Though there is not a tower at
County Line, often a lifeguard unit or ranger unit will pull up to the overlook
to watch things.
