San Quintin Baja Road Trip

Nov 26th Wed. - Nov. 30th Sun.

Who: SCKA www.scka.org , SCWA www.scwindsurfing.com and friends (Margarita and Jose Quervo to name a few) windsurfer are welcome as there is plenty of room, with three bays, and a wide open beach.
What: Road Trip to San Quintin, Baja - Party Saturday Night with Bonfire, Fireworks new Videos Screening,
Clinic: There will be a basic clinic with Q&A, if anyone expresses interest and instructors available for lessons. If you are interested you most pre book for clinics or lessons.
When: Wed. Nov. 26th through Sun.Nov. 30th
Where: San Quintin, Baja Mexico, 4 hours south of the Border

Why: This time of year San Quintin, gets some awesome wind, stead 18-20 knots. Kite size around 10-12 flat depending of weight of rider. Winds blow from side-shore to slightly side-on shore. There is a large bay with flat water and only waist deep, as well as open Ocean with a nice wave break.

There will be a rescue boat available at no charge.

We will be staying at either the main Hotel La Pinta http://www.baja-web.com/sanqui/pinta-sanqui.html right on the beach (cost per person ~ ($30.00) 2 persons sharing room with 2 queen beds or there is a less expensive hotel ¼ mile up the beach Cielito Lindon hotel and a camp ground as well. Some will be staying on the bay at Old Pier $15.00 night per person. The bay is only 2 - 4 feet deep, which makes it great for learning.

Directions: GPS coordinates 30'49 N ~ 115'90 W 190 miles south of the U.S. border, roughly a four hour drive at about Km. 190 Go south on the 405/5 to San Diego. Cross the Tijuana border crossing and head south to Ensenda on hwy 1, continue for bout 2 hors and you will be at roughly Km 190 Go south of San Quintin off of Km. 11, west for 2.5 miles look for signs to La Pinta Hotel
Party at the La Pinta Hotel Saturday Night at 8pm, we will be showing Kitesurfing videos in the bar and a Bonfire right out front on the beach
I will have a cell phone or vhf radios to communicate with the group.
I will try to coordinate caravans so please let me know if you attend to go, approximately. When, time/date depart/return if you have room for additional passengers etc. and a phone number and email address so I can put groups together. We have group rate, so you will need to contact me if you think you might go, or want to make reservations.
